Default Date returns continually to 2005 each time I restart Computer

Whenever I reboot my computer year changes itself to 2005 instead 2007 what
creates many security problems with my computer. I do have Windows XP genuine
but something is very wrong with my computer.

I have to emphasise that time is always correct and month is Ok but year is
always back .

I tried to reinstall windows XP but problem before reinstallment and after
is the same...

Please help

That wouldn't cause only the year to change. It would cause the entire date
to change.

You can try setting the BIOS date and see what happens.

It may be grabbing the time from another computer on the network that
has the incorrect time.... What happens if you disconnect your network
connection and then reboot?

It also may be grabbing time from your BIOS clock which is not set
correctly. Usually the BIOS clock will set when you set the time in
Windows but maybe in your case it doesn't. Try hitting the key to go
into the BIOS settings at power-up and verify that the clock is set
correctly there.

John

Very often that means the first step is to replace your cmos battery.

Note that in the part of his message you snipped, he said "I have to
emphasise that time is always correct and month is Ok but year is
always back." That makes it virtually impossible that the problem is
the battery.
