Default Is data backup necessary?

Do you want to backup and restore your important data?

1. Reasons for backup and restore.

2. Do you think what the best software to backup and restore your data
in the world is currently?

3. What function do you most need of the backup and restore software?

Yes, I sometimes think that. I'm concerned about my data in the world.

OK, sorry, I thought your message was commercial spam.

I haven't found a good backup solution yet. Some things I've tried are,

- Norton Ghost, to make a complete backup images of a partition or
drive, stored on external hard discs.

- Nero, to backup selected data files to CD-R and DVD-R

Good luck.

No, it wasn't a stupid question, I thought you meant something different.

For a home system I believe disk imaging is the best as the primary backup.
Acronis True Image Home version creating images to an external USB connected
hard drive. Purchase a standard hard drive and and external drive
enclosure. Images can be done on a drive or partition basis. ATI also does
file backups.

Backups should be stored on external media. It's also good to have
redundancy so you can separately backup data files to CD or DVD.
