CRT Monitor issue

Hi:
One of PCs with XP is still using CRT Monitor that is old-fashioned, in
today's PC-World.
However, due to a good-quality photoes image that CRT Monitor produces, then
I still
stick to it. It's Plug & Play Monitor with slight curve in the middle of
it.

One issue I've been encoutering, however that a size-screen reduces, from 17
inches
to 15.5 inches that happens about once a month. Although I manage to get it
back to the
desired/original screen-size, I wonder whether I can keep a desired/original
CRT Monitor
Screen permanently, at least 'save' in order to rescue the original CRT
Monitor screen-size
without hassle.

Any help on this would be truly appreciated.

My guess is the monitor is going.

The Monitor is 'acer 713' that I purchased about two months
ago.

Any other idea on this issue?

If it's still under warranty, take it back for a refund or an exchange
for another one. Your monitor is going south, sorry. This can happen
right out of the box. I had a Philips TFT monitor and it would go off an
on right after I took it out of the box, brand new. Philips acknowledged
it as a known problem and sent me a new monitor that was more expensive
than the first one. I got it the next day by messenger, no charge.

Test the monitor at every resolution that the video card supports
(that doesn't exceed what the monitor supports). Then adjust the size
using the monitor's controls, not software controls. Make sure to
check the sizing by increasing the size 2 to 5 steps both larger and
smaller than the monitor's size. This is to check if you are close to
a frequency switch in the monitor. If you are close then it is
possible the monitor might be bouncing between the 2 modes. When I
had a CRT monitor, and if the sizing put me close to the switch point,
I would adjust down at least 3 increments in size.

Just because the monitor is new doesn't mean that it isn't broke. If
there is a problem in the flyback circuit, a short, or other problem
then the size could change. Since you say the monitor is only 2
months old in your other post, call the maker and ask what it takes to
use the warranty.
