Default Crash

Hi All,
I am(was) running windows xp home, last night my computer, a Toshiba
Satellite just stopped working. I tried to reinstall the operating disc but
with no success. The program starts but then shows the message "The system is
not fully installed. Please run setup again" I tried but it always gives me
the same message. Am I having disc problems or is my laptop doomed to an
early rebuild. Any suggestions or advise would be appreciated

Thanks

How far does it get into the install process.

Your description leads me to suspect that this may be a hardware
problem, possibly a hard drive defect, but that is pure speculation
without some sort of specific error information.

Can you provide any further information as to exactly what happened
when it "stopped working"?

When you boot with the operating disc to do a reinstall, what options
(if any) are you given initially?

Good luck
