My new computer is using WinXP with some fancy new hardware:
(ASUS P5N32-E 680i SLI with SoundMax and two NVIDIA video cards)
(Intel Core 2 Duo)
(3 low-noise fans)
BUT... some of my favorite WinXP games spit out crackling audio... This
never happened on my older WinXP computer with a Pent4 chip and one video
card.
Is this new hardware part of my game sound problem?
Windows Media Player works just fine with no sound issues.... so I am
confused!

Are you running the latest version of your respective audio drivers?
