Try to install into my old pc, spec 850 mhz, 128 mb ram. Hd as pri master

cannot copy the file; coup.ttf
to retry- press enter// If you are installing from cd make sure rhat......
and F3 to exit setup"
The first time I try to install it give me the file name "georgiaz.ttf
cannot be copied.
Another strange thing is there is only 1cd (sec master) which it identify
correctky during POST but later it will say the Sec Slave ATAPI is
incompitaible''
Any reason for the error? Does it means my hdd is going to the
fryingpan????? thanks
128 mB is woefully inadequate. The rest of the hardware is probably too old
for support. To do a clean install, boot the Windows XP install CD-Rom.
Setup inspects your computer's hardware configuration and then begins to
install the setup and driver files. When the Windows XP Professional screen
appears, press ENTER to set up Windows XP Professional.
(Note: If your drive controller is not natively supported then you'll want
to boot the Windows XP CD-Rom. Then *F6* very early and very important (at
setup is inspecting your system) in the setup to prevent drive controller
detection, and select S to specify additional drivers. Then later you'll be
prompted to insert the manufacturer supplied Windows XP driver for your
drive controller in drive "A")
Read the license agreement, and then press the F8 key to accept the terms of
the license agreement and continue the installation.
When the Windows XP Professional Setup screen appears, all the existing
partitions and the unpartitioned spaces are listed for each physical hard
disk. Use the ARROW keys to select the partitions Press D to delete an
existing partition, If you press D to delete an existing partition, you must
then press L (or press ENTER, and then press L if it is the System
partition) to confirm that you want to delete the partition. Repeat this
step for each of the existing partitions When all the partitions are deleted
press F3 to exit setup, (to avoid unexpected drive letter assignments with
your new install) then restart the pc then when you get to this point in
setup again select the unpartitioned space, and then press C to create a new
partition and specify the size (if required). Windows will by default use
all available space.

Have you verified that all of your PC's hardware components are
capable of supporting WinXP? This information will be found at the PC's
manufacturer's web site, and on Microsoft's Windows Catalog:
(http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx)
You should also take a few minutes to ensure that there are
WinXP-specific device drivers available for all of the machine's
components. There may not be, if the PC was specifically designed for
Win98/Me. Also bear in mind that PCs designed for, sold and run fine
with Win9x/Me very often do not meet WinXP's much more stringent
hardware quality requirements. This is particularly true of many early
models in Compaq's consumer-class Presario product line or HP's
consumer-class Pavilion product line. WinXP, like WinNT and Win2K
before it, is quite sensitive to borderline defective or substandard
hardware (particularly motherboards, RAM and hard drives) that will
still support Win9x.
Problems copying files or corrupted files during installation are
most often caused by defective, incompatible, or sub-standard hardware;
in order of likelihood, either RAM, the hard drive, or the motherboard.
It'll most likely be the same component that caused your friend's
original problem. On very rare occasions the CD drive or installation
CD is the problem.
Start with testing the RAM. You might try MemTest86: http://www.memtest86.com/ It's free. Then you can download and use the
hard drive maufacturer's diagnostic utility to test the hard drive. If
both RAM and hard drive test out clean, check with the motherboard
manufacturer for any diagnostic utilities.
Many thanks for the info and the ram was the problem. Revert back to the old
OS and able to get the pc going.
