Default Cidaemon runtime error continues

The following error message continues to pop up on my desktop:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Windows\system32\cidaemon.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."

I tried sfc /scannow, but the error continues.

Is repair possible? I would prefer not to turn it off.

Thanks for any help,

Owkmann

Default Re: Cidaemon runtime error continues

So the only way to fix this would be to reinstall the OS?
