chkdsk /f

Hello

When i try to run chkdsk /f when it just about to start the 4th stage it
just stops and continues to boot up normal. It will not run when i check
automactically fix file system errors in windows either. This started right
after i did a clean install of my
xp home edition sp1a. I have ran the WD hdd test and two other utilities to
check hdd and all show good , they also check out at pcpitstop. Well help me
out if you can.

Larry,

No worries. Your hard drive is fine. If it has passed its manufacturers
test then all is well. The checkdsk 4th stage acts like it just stops and
boots is because there are no issues found. To find the results of the
startup chkdsk /f go to Event Viewer - Application - immediately after Chkdsk
- you'll find an Entry called 'winlogon' - if you Click on that you'll get a
Summary. Good Luck,
