Can't read CD

I have XP SP2 with all the updates. I have a data CD-R that was fine until
I copied a couple of files over to it. Now Windows won't read it and says
there are 0 bytes used and free. The CD is full though. Is there anything
I can do to recover it?

It might be about faulty recording related to your burner. Check for
newer firmware. If it's a video disc, try it on a stand-alone CD (VCD-
DVD) player to see if it works with it.

Can you read other CDs on this drive/computer? Can you read this CD on
another computer?

I can read other CD's on this computer, but have not tried the CD in

Get IsoBuster http://www.isobuster.com/isobusterdownload.php
It will read *anything* on a CD and allow you to extract any data on
it.
IsoBuster can be paid for, or use the basic command set for free. What
you want to do is covered in free use.

If the file system on the CD was not closed gracefully the last time
you wrote to it, or is damaged in some other way, Windows may not be
able to "mount" the CD filesystem, so you can't see what's on it.
IsoBuster is different. It will read the raw data on the CD no matter
whether the filesystem is intact or not.
You should be able to recover your precious data and write it to
another CD.
IsoBuster is free to download and use, so you've got nothing to lose,
and you might even get access to your data!
