I can play back a DVD using Intervideo DVD player that came with my Fujitsu
N6010, but I can't play one back in Windows Media Player. What could cause
this?

What stops you from viewing the DVD, an error, an application hang,
etc.?

Maybe Intervideo has a special location for it's mpeg 2 decoder, one that
isn't "seen" by WMP.
Try searching for OpenSource MPEG2 Video Decoder. I use it with Zoom player.
It complains that the screen res is too deep and to adjust it or the colors,
but that makes no sense to me as Intervideo works fine.

Good article. The only stpe I've tried so far is to uninstall/reinstall the
Intervideo software and drivers. That did not help at all.

There seem to be lots of MPEG2 decoders available. Got a preference?

Not having the proper codex for WMP. Google will find one for you.

Just out of curiosity, is the color quality really poor with InterwinDVD
player? And did you ever fix this problem?
