Default Can no install Xp after removing Linux

I installed Linux Red Hat in a system but then removed the installation
completely. Now I Can't install XP on the same box. When I bootup with XP in
CD and press ENTER to start from CD... It flashes Checking hard
configuration and then the screen goes blank. Does anyone know what might be
problem?

Thanks in advance for your help
