Default can i save my pics off hardrive

have an acer aspire1700 running xp...im a newbie but i think i might
have a virus.....my laptop got realy slow and i couldnt shut it
down...so i had to turn off by holding power button down...now when i
turn it on the aspire screen comes up then windows xp comes up for a
2
seconds then there is a flash of a blue screen with writing on but
its
too fast too read then it goes back to beginning and does it all over
again....i tried starting it with the restore disk but it just does
the same thing
i have read what is on the bluescreen ....it says .....disable or
uninstal any anti virus, disk defrag or backup utilities
check your hard drive configuration and check any updated
drivers....run chkdsk/f to check for hd corruption and restart
computer.........HOW DO I DO THIS IF I CANT GET COMPUTER TO
RUN..it wont start in safe mode....thanks for any help...............i
have taken it
out put it in an external case and connected it to my ibm....i get
message saying the file directory is corrupted and unreadable...it
there any way to get my pics off the harddrive
what is the best way to save the pics.....im worried about and wiping
them off
im even willing to shell out some cash if there is good software to do
this....thanks for any help

Hi - I suggest you find a good local technician to help you with this before
proceeding with anything at all, as it's entirely possible you may make
things worse. If there's a Craig's List for your area, or anything similar,
that's a good place to find someone. It's best to avoid the "box store" tech
support desk if you have other options.
