Default Batch close selected programs

Hi,
At the end of each evening, I close several of my open programs in order to
run a synchronization program between 2 drives. It runs much faster when the
data-related programs are closed. Is there a utility to handle this or is it
possible to create a batch file to do this? If so, what would the syntax be?
Thanks very much in advance!

Sue,

What programs do you need to close automatically? Unless you understand
batch command I suggest you don't run any of them that someone may paste
here

If you prefer there is a newsgroup devoted to batch files

It can be done with a batch file but the batch "experts" are mostly over at
alt.msdos.batch.nt; check there.

There is a freeware program called Kana Reminder which has those functions
too. Search for it on Google and download it. Starting/stopping programs
is one of its feaures and easy to set up for most.

Thanks Pop. I checked out kana and they don't say anything about selectively
closing programs. I did find another utlity but it doesn't have right click
activation yet. I gues for now it will be manual closing of the apps.
many thanks,
Sue
