I have a dell windows xp home edition 2000. The back up utility is not on my
computer. The directions say to insert your windows xp cd into the
drive.....I feel really dumb I can't find any disk that came with my dell
that says backupdisk. What am I missing.
If you did not get a hologramed MS cd marked "For installation on a new
computer" or at least a cd marked "Restore" then contact Dell to get one.
If you should have gotten a hologramed cd then you also should have a
drivers and utilities cd as well. Ask about that too. You should be able
to download the drivers and software from the Dell site but it doesn't hurt
to have their cd.

Backup is installed automatically on XP Professional, but not on XP
Home. There is no separate backup CD. If you have the complete XP Home
CD, find backup on the CD, in \ValueAdd\MSFT\NTBACKUP and install it
yourself by doubleclicking the file ntbackup.msi.
