You may remember that a while ago we had a conversation about Windows
Internet Time not synchronizing properly with time.nist.gov or
time.windows.com. Well, I believe that I finally found out what the problem
was. And since you took an interest in the problem, I thought I'd let you
know.
Have a look at Click here: http://tf.nist.gov/service/its.htm and read
"Starting on 14 April 2007 the server time.nist.gov will no longer respond to
requests for time in the TIME format (as defined in RFC-868)." at the bottom
of the page.
Interestingly, after I posted my criticism of MS, the time.windows.com was
repaired and now works properly.

I went into the registry & searched for Internet Time and then added
132.163.4.102 to the time servers, and Windows syncs to it ok. It's one of
the servers that the freeware program 'Atomic Clock Sync' uses.
Don't change the registry unless you are an experienced user.
Regards Mike.
I solved the problem by adding another time server too. But I posted the
problem so that Microsoft would be aware of it. They did seem to respond,
time.windows.com is now working. The page I referenced to Rock has a list of
all the NIST time servers.

No need to edit the registry. Just enter the time server you want from the
GUI.

Editing the registry isn't required. Right-click the time, choose "Adjust
Date/Time," and change it on the "Internet Time" tab.

Yep, entering a time server in the Server window worked fine for me when I
did it.
