Default Accessing share on Win 2000 Pro

>From a Windows XP pc I am unable to connect to shares on a Win 200 Pro
pc that is on the same workgroup. What services or configuration is
required to be able to connect to the shares between the pc's.

You need share permissions as well as proper credentials and
authentication to access the share. Create a user on the Windows 2000
machine with the same username and password as the one on the XP machine
and give it necessary permissions to access the share. You also have to
make sure that a firewall isn't blocking your requests.
