Default Xp won't boot up

I installed windows xp on a Time computer I had that had windows 98
on. I formatted the drive and removed all partitions. On boot up all I
get now is "searching for boot record on ide-0. ok", and then it
hangs.
I tried the hard drive in another pc and there was no problem. It
seems as if the bios is trying to look for something that is not
there, something by Time perhaps.
Any ideas?
Thanx.

Thats because there is nothing on the drive boot sector
enter the BIOS and set CD as the 1st boot device...
place the XP Cd in and reboot
let setup start and look for the screen that says press R for Recovery
Console...press R
this will give you a command Prompt..........C:/
type in: fixmbr
fixboot
exit................remove CD and restart
