XP PRO upgrade errors with slipstream.

OK I am running into a wall here and could use some help.

1st I built my own pc 2 years ago. I have an Asus P5-ND2sli delux mobo. 2
XFX 6800xxx ultra PSI xpress in SLI. 2 matched pair OCZ Gold 5300ddr2 2048
ram. I had 2 maxtor HDD 1 Ata 133 60gig as my former main drive and a 250g
used for data. My main drive crashed and all data was lost. I bought a Wd
Caviar SE16 320g sata 3g/s. I didn't think about that my version of XP Pro
was the origional launch having an issue. Upon install I got an Unmountable
Boot Volume error. Microsoft tech said it may be hardware. All hardware
checks out good and tests fine. Attempted an install with the HDD jumper in
SATA 1.5 no go. Realizing that I have the OEM install disk of XP Pro from the
1st launch date. I attempted to slipstream SP2 into my version. I used the
method from Maximum PC Jan 05 issue to extract the sp2 into a file then in
cmd prompt run xpsp2\i386\update\update /s:C:xpsetupcd. A string created to
make the process simple reverting to simple file naming. When I tried to
boot from this disk I got an error could not find ntldr file. My other PC is
running Vista Home premium and neolite does not work with vista. Any Ideas?
I am waiting to see if anyone I know can get an Win XP PRO SP2 disk in the
meantime. Thanks

So a few things to check:
You have that specific SATA channel enabled in the BIOS??
You have that SATA drives set up to boot in the boot order??
You are installing the SATA drivers during the XP install??

All Sata are enabled in BIOS
Sata Drive is set to boot 3rd after floppy and CD Bare essentials is hooked
up I left off my 2nd burner and Data HDD.
Sata and Raid Drivers installed during install..
I get a software compatability error during the gui portion of the install
where XP is intitalizing drivers at the beginning of the gui install before
the reg key is requested.
