I want to deploy windows xp with sp3 integrated just on 10 pcs for testing
purposes, using Microsoft Deployment Workbench and WAIK.
My company bought licenses through Microsoft volume licensing. I have a
legit VLK.
I built the distribution, task sequence and tested it in vmware. Everything
works fine until to a point, when an errors comes up.
"A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for
this computer. Error Code: 0x80004005." The PK works when deploying Windows
XP with SP2. But not now. It's a legit PK, so no worries there.
I've read on web,and it seems this is due to the fact that SP3 is just a
beta(RC) and not fully supported.
Someone said to replace a "pidgen.dll" from i386 folder with the one for WXP
SP2, but still no go. Is there a way to deploy WXP with SP3 preintegrated?
Do I have to wait until SP3 is officially released?

Great help. Directing me to the place I went before hundreds of times. Don't
just post in one line sentences if you aren't able to provide a solution.
You could've abstained yourself from this.

The main problem you have is the SP3 has not be "offically" released
as an update to the "general" public. It is still in test phases. It
is not recommended to install SP3 on any important PCs as for a
complete remove os SP2 may require a re-install of XP. That is is
main reason the responder referred you to that forum.

If you can't get help from the technet forum, then you are not going to get
help here either because they know more about SP3 RC2 than we do.
More than likely, what you see is just another reason why SP3 has not been
released to the
general public yet.
