Default What tool to use for creating image of winXP installation?

Hey

I'm about to install winXP on 10 new computers. After the installation I
want to create an image of the installations. Store the image as a hidden
file on the harddrive (these machines have 2 harddrives, my boss wants me to
store them on drive D - second harddrive )

We want to have the image so that just in case something wrong happens to
the computers we can quickly apply the image and have the computer running
perfectly again.

I'm not sure what tool to use. I want to use a image tool which is cheap &
reliable. Maybe winXP have some built in features for this?

any suggestions?

The XCOPY method only works on Windows 9x. You cannot use it on XP. (Well,
you can if you wish, but it won't woirk!)

Acronis products seem to get good reports, if buying new I'd go with that.

Jeff,

The best 2 options are Acronis True Image or Symantec Ghost.

However, in addition to this you could look into DeepFreeze by Faronics.
This actually discards any changes made so when you reboot the original image
as back to default.

With DeepFreeze you can also "Thaw" the OS so you can install updates etc
that will be saved. Check out http://www.faronics.com/html/deepfreeze.asp
