We run WDS in mixed mode, and I've just added my first Vista image
straight from the DVD to the native mode side. I changed the name and
description of the boot image from "Microsoft Windows Longhorn Setup
(x86)" to "Windows Vista," but the boot menu I get on the remote client
still says "Microsoft Windows Longhorn Setup (x86)." The WDS service has
been completely stopped and restarted several times.
What other changes do I need to make to fix the boot menu item?

Well, I managed to figure this out. When you make a boot image from
Windows Vista media, the image file actually contains two images. The
second image is the one you're renaming in Windows Deployment Services;
the first image is the one with the Longhorn information in it.
To fix it, I exported the image from WDS, then used imagex.exe /info to
rename the first image. (Who'd have thought you'd rename something with
an /info parameter?) Then I replaced the boot image in WDS with the
updated image.
