Upgrade from Win2000 problem

i am trying to upgrade to Win XP from Win 2000. At the setup screen
afterserial number nad dynamic update a message appears saying "Setup was
unable to retrieve or save info about your disk drives. Access is denied"
I have two IDE Western Digital disk drives and i can not find anything wrong
about them.
