RIS, problem with SMB

Hi there,

I have a problem with my RIS (WDS) server. It's running w2k3 sp1 (sp2
has the same problem). When I try to deploy a WINXP workstation my
setup crashes after the first portion of the TEXTSETUP, this is when
the system talks SMB. I did a network trace:

18538 84.037322 xxx.xxx.9.83 xxx.xxx.15.34 SMB Session Setup

Response, Error: STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

In this case username and password are not send so that is the
failure. Both, server and client are in the same subnet with no
routers between it.

When I try to do this in my test network everything is ok. Can someone
tell me what is going wrong???
