RAID-0 and non-RAID SATA drives Windows XP Pro 64

Hi there,

I'm trying to install Windows XP Pro 64 bits on my ASUS P5K-E WiFi/AP. It
worked with the SATA controller (ICH9R) set to IDE, I could install on the
non-RAID drive. Setting the SATA controller in BIOS to RAID hangst during
startup and reboots. Trying to install using a F6 RAID floppy driver
installation does let me choose the ICH9R but doesn't show any partitions to
install into.

It all worked running Vista, didn't have to use F6 during installation then.

How can I get all three harddrives (samsung spinpoints HD501 T166's) to work
like one non-RAID (os) and two as one RAID-0 set, running Windows XP Pro 64?

The ICH9R intel controller is for RAID,however setting it to non-RAID with
3 IDE hds & expecting a RAID set to be automatically configured wont
work.With
vista or xp,you might get to install an OS,F6 is neither here or
there,youre only
getting a simple IDE installation RAID is out of the question.Also,only
install the
OS with 1 hd,with 2 or 3,some files get to the others,corrupting the
default C:
hd.For RAID all 3 need to be the same as,RAID 0 stripes data over 2 or more
hds
how are you going to get that w/o a RAID set made,this you'd get in a post
BIOS

I'm sure the comment would be interesting if it made any sense, but its
format, or lack of it, renders it sensless

Andrew,

I'd already configured the SATA driver in the ICH9R RAID setup menu (CTRL-I
during Post) so that one disk is non-RAID, the other two are combined into a
RAID-0 set.
This works fine under Windows Vista 64, without a floppy to use during
setup. However, the RAID set is not seen in XP 64 (when XP is installed on
the non-RAID, SATA host controller set to IDE). Nor is it seen using the
floppy with XP 64 drivers, doing a setup from CD, SATA host controller set to
RAID.

Hi people,

problem solved. I was stupid enough to select the ICH9 from the floppy
drivers, instead of the ICH9R. Selected the last one which solved everything.
