Default Out of memory when install applications

I have a Windows XP SP2 VL which have been slipstreamed with about 50 hotfixes.

Problem is that after I install I get out of memory exceptions when
installing 3rd party applications - even Microsoft Office XP.

I am using the Virtual PC 2007, and I have set the RAM at different levels -
128MB to more than a 1GB

Default RE: Out of memory when install applications

"out of memory" wont always mean ram memory, try setting "virtual memory"
to "let system manage" click set 2X,restart pc...Also,you might open task
mgr first, write down system use on memory, etc, then restart pc....

Default RE: Out of memory when install applications

Thanks for your reply Andrew,

I think I was a bit unclear in my first message.

The Out of Memory comes within the Virtual Machine and not my main PC. The
Virtual Machine is installed with the XP I specified below. As I was able to
see the "let system manage" was already enabled - as this installation is
only modified by the hotfixes I have installed. Actually I can add - if I
slipstream IE 7, I get the out of memory during the install of the XP on the
virtual machine.
The VL XP is downloaded from MSDN subscriptions, and the hotfixes are
downloaded from Microsoft download site. Everything is running Regional
settings: Danish.

Regards
Anders
