Default Issue deploying image to different machines

I have decided upon using WDS on Windows 2008 server and I have the
server installed and running.

My first attempt was to create an image of a Dell GX110 and added it
to the wds server.

I then swapped the hard drive in the GX110 and got the image deployed
to the PC with no problems.

However, I then tried deploying the same image to a Latitude X300 and
after it reboots it complains about the hal.dll

So on the server I used imagex to include the drivers for the x300 in
which I could locate and now it does not complain about the hal.

Instead it boots up with the menu about do you want to start safe
mode ... start normally, and then whatever I choose it just reboots
and the cycle continues.

Have you come across this before, if so are you aware of why it
behaves in this fashion??

In case it matters I'm trying to deploy XP sp3

Many thanks in advance

Since my last post, I have now noticed that if I then run a repair on
windows the laptop will boot fine with the image intact, and then I
notice a few drivers within device manager are missing which I can
then reinstall and its then ok.

However this is not an ideal way as you'd agree. I believe the
problem is to do with the drivers. Before deploying the image to the
laptop i copied off all the drivers which i then used to take all the
*.inf and add them to the boot image via imagex, so I would have
thought all the drivers would have moved over to the laptop but
clearly not. Another bit of info is that if i go into safe mode is
reboots just after mup.sys which apparenly the next step would be plug
and play.

Does anyone see where i'm going wrong?

Many thanks,
