Is it possible to install xp home over xp pro without losing any data or
programs on harddrive?

I do have my old win 98 cd if i still need it to verify purchase.

Why would you want to go from Winxp pro to Winxp Home - a downgrade?

No, you cannot install XP Home Edition over XP Professional.
A "clean install" would be required.
