HD, which can not be detected and can not be install using a floppy drive? or
is it true? please help, thank you.
One other problem is, the motherboard I am using is from Aopen, anyone heard

You either need to buy a floppy drive or create a slipstreamed winxp cd that
contains the sata/raid drivers - google for info
Your motherboard site will have the drivers required, and they are probably
on the motherboard cd.
The manual will give exact instructions for utilising sata / raid - it
varies from mobo to mobo

RE: How to install Window XP prof into new Harddisk without Floppy Dri
Hi Karen,
at first: SATA Controller is usually independent from the motherboard.
You'll need to find out what chipset is installed. Most commonly you'll find
an intel chipset, so you have to choose Intel ICH6, ICH7 or ICH8 SATA driver
depending on your chipset.
You canget the required drivers at the intel homepage
For installing the OS itself you can choose tools lite nLite or something
similar which allows you to integrate the required drivers and makes you a
bootable OS installation DVD or CD for installation without floppy drive.
Hope this will solve your problem

Re: How to install Window XP prof into new Harddisk without Floppy Dri
The sata controler is rarely independent from the motherboard.
Motherboard manufacturers tweak the hardware, often, specifically for their
systems
AOpen also uses sata controlers other than Intel.
The safest place to source the driver is at Aopen site
