Default Help installing XP SP2

Please help me complete the installation of XP Home SP2.

I reformatted my HD and did a clean install of XP Home. I then tried to
install SP2. All updates except the Security Update for CAPICOM (KB931906)
installed OK. The CAPICOM update just hangs:

Initializing installation... done!
Installing Security Update for CAPICOM (KB931906) (update 1 of 1)...

I tried RESOLUTION from Article ID 934648:

To resolve this problem, restart the BITS service. To do this, follow these
steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
2. In the list of services, double-click Background Intelligent Transfer
Service.
3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Start.
4. Click Apply, and then click OK.
5. Restart the computer.

None of this solves the problem, and I can't install my other S/W because SP
2 is not installed properly. I've spent two days messing with this. Please
help!!!
