Default Can I successfully customise default folder views?

For sometime now I have had a personal objective to master the 'Default User'
profile path found under 'C:\Documents and Settings'. I wish to be able to do
this so that, amongst other things, I can configure the default folder views
for 'My Computer', 'Printers', 'Control Panel' and 'Network Connections'. It
has been my hope that I can set these folders to appear differently when new
users use them for the first time. I wish to set the folders as :-

'My Computer' : Details view, all subfolders to show as list view.
'Printers' : Details View
'Control Panel' : Classic, Icons view
'Network Connections' : Tiles

It would be nice if I could also set the explorer status bar to always show.
To begin with I made quite a number of half-effort attempts to pull this off,
all of which failed. I realised this was not going to be as simple as hoped
and came across this article:-

I thought I'd worked out where I was going wrong, and that by using this
technique the customised folder views would be applied to new users. When I
build a workstation from scratch this technique works fine. However I have
not been able to find a way of supplying the custom folder views to multiple
machines. Getting deeper into it, I found some info that suggested I should
be using Sysprep to accomidate this functionality. Unfortunately I
immediately hit a stumbling block when restoring the image, the folder view
customisations were not apparent when a new user logged in. I found this fix,
and applied it accordingly:-

I also had to remove the InstallFilesPath line from 'sysprep.inf'. This
looked like it was going to work. Unfortunately the customised folder view
settings do not appear after the mini-setup is run and a new user logs in. I
am lead to believe that there are two registry keys that are approriate to
what I am trying to achieve, however find it pretty much impossible to work
out which subkey relates to which of the aforementioned windows:-

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell \Bags
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell NoRoam\Bags

Has anyone had any success customising these views for new users? I am
hoping to determine if what I am trying to achieve is actually possible...

Guidance will be much appreciated,
Aaron
