Default WIN XP PRO Service Pack 3

Hi,

Is it safe to upgrade online to SP 3?
I now have SP 2
My O/S is 32 Bit Win XP PRO

If I do upgrade to SP 3 then in the future, if the need arises and I need
to do repairs would my gold disk of Win XP PRO SP 2 will suffice to
insert for repairs? or do I need to buy another CD media of XP "WITH" SP 3
in it ?

I am confused, cause I am trying to look OUTSIDE THE BOX not just upgrade
to SP 3 for now.

Thanks

With proper preparation, it is safe to install SP3. I've installed it on
dozens of machines with zero issues.

You don't need to purchase anything else, but you will need to slipstream
SP3 with your SP2 XP install disk. This is very easy to do. I like NLite
and Autostreamer.

Another question aout service pack3. I have found that there is over a gb of
space taken on the hard drive. It would appear that this is normal and I
haven't done anything wrong???
