I've just seen one of many posts stating that Skype won't let XP shut
down etc. Also there have been articles saying the quality is not that
great. That makes me ask is VOIP worth it or is it a dying fad?
Re: VOIP - Is it worth it? - Your Opinions Please...
I have VOIP and I love it. My carrier is Packet 8. I've never had any
trouble and the clarity is fine. I've been thinking of switching to Vonage
because they have a 500 minute plan thats very cheap. I think about 15 a
month plus the small government charges. Comes to around 20 for 500 minutes
a month.

Vonage may not survive following their patent loss.

Try "Jajah" from here:http://jajah.com/ . You simply setup the call
online but then use your regular phone and telephone company infrastructure
to talk. Been using it for about 6-7 months with no problems yet. Right now
I am paying .028 cents a minute for calls anywhere in the continental USA or
Canada.

I use SunRocket, great service, no complaints. I pay $ 200.00 upfront for
the year for unlimited calling in the US & Canada. If there any increases
or additional taxes added on by the government I am covered because I paid
in advance.

I'll second Sunrocket. Been using it since Christmas with no
complaints. Installed in seconds and has worked perfectly ever since.
