Here is a porblem that rears every now and again. Running Win XP Home.
Ocassionally, I will want to delete some picture files (jpegs) from my
computer and instead of the files deleting, they duplicate. This has not
happened with other file types. The only way I can delete them is boot into
safe mode and then they delete without duplicating. Every time this happens
I can for viruses and find none, and adware or spyware is absent as well.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening. Thanks

It isn't the file type. Are you trying to delete by dragging the files to
the Recycle Bin? If yes, this problem usually occurs because the hand isn't
quite as steady as one would want. You're moving the files slightly as you
drag and that is creating the extra copies.
First lower the sensitivity of your mouse from the Mouse applet in Control
Panel. Then change the way you delete. Either select files and then
right-click>Delete or select files and use File>Delete. To select multiple
contiguous files, highlight the first file in the series and then hold down
the Shift key and highlight the last file in the series. All your desired
files will be highlighted. Then use the right-click or File menu deletion
procedure. To delete non-contiguous files, hold down the Ctrl key as you
select.
No we are not dragging to the recycle bin, I am merely right clicking on the
file and choosing to delete. It is then that the file duplictaes itself.

Then you are moving your hand slightly and making a copy. Try lowering the
sensitivity of the mouse as previously suggested.
