Some Fonts Corrupted in Windows/Fonts file maybe ?
Hello,
I am having trouble fixing a font problem which I know for certain affects
"Century" font,
There may be others too that are affected.
Most fonts are OK in all types and modes.
I am running Windows XP SP2 with Microsoft Office 2003.
When I am in Word and PowerPoint all fonts look OK on the screen and in
print preview, also looks OK
However, When I go to to print in Century font Bold, it appears bold on the
screen
but prints in regular type only, no bold. Font looks OK otherwise. I even
tried with different points 12, 14, 16 etc.
This is what I did to try and fix it.
1) I loaded the Office 2003 installation CD and selected the fix/repair
option.
2) I un-installed and re-installed my HP8050 printer driver successfully.
3)I prayed
It didn't fix the problem.
I don't know if I have a font file problem, I don't know which CD, XP or
Office has all the fonts
and how to reinstall the fonts folder since most of those files are zipped
and very
cryptic. I thought the Microsoft repair feature would fix fonts as well.
I would like a copy of Century.ttf but don't know where to find it and
install to see if it fixes that problem.
I may have other corrupted fonts but I cannot check every one, several of
them that I did check were fine.

A quick Google search for the font name turned up a good selection of pages,
including: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837463 Apparently, it came with
Office.....search your program CD for the font/s. 8^)
