It use to be that I plugged in my Canon Powershot S60 via USB and
Microsoft's wizard opened. Now a Windows dialog box opens and asks
for a file on the Canon Solutions Disk. The camera was given to me
used, and the previous owner could not find the disk. But if I
understand correctly, I don't need to install any camera-specific
software to simply download images from my camera.
I thought it was Real Media's free upgrade (the only software change
in the last two weeks, except Windows updates), but I first tried
uninstalling it (no change), then I tried device manager, and it would
only ask for the same Canon disk. I tried finding the application on
the Windows installation disk, but I could not find it.
I tried running wiaacmgr, but that did not help either.

Did you take a look at Canon's web page for your camera?
