On my new XP build, when I click on the shortcut on my keyboard to open
IE6, if I have a Folder open, Like to the D drive, then IE6 opens in
that folder and not in it's own window.
Any idea how to shut that off?
If I don't have any folders open then IE6 starts as itself.
Go to "Start" >"All Programs" > right-click "Internet Explorer" in your "All
Programs" list > Send To > Desktop(create shortcut)
right-click the other one > delete

That didn't solve the problem. Any idea on how to get that original
Internet Expolorer shortcut back? It did not go to my recycle bin.
The original IE icon would let me right mouse click and get Internet
options, the new IE icon is just a shortcut so when I right mouse click
on it I only get the properties of the shortcut.

Check your keyboard shortcut setup. Could be that you have set 2 different keyboard shortcuts as same

Trust me, I've checked it and changed it and checked it and changed it
but the behavior didn't change. I think the keyboard is just a little
flakey so I'll have to learn to only hit the keyboard shortcut for IE6
once.
Is there a setting in IE6 for it to open a second window when IE6 is
accessed? On the old XP machine hitting the keyboard shortcut just gets
me to the original, already open IE window.
