First you go to SYSTEM PROPERTIES & select updates. Change it to "download
but let me decide when to install"
When a message pops up & tells you that updates are ready to install, click
the message.
On that window you can select a choice which I forget but basically it says
to let you decide which ones you allow.
In the next window de-select the mungrel you are having trouble with & then
click INSTALL. Tell it to never ask me for that update again. (please!)
I guess it is maybe the one that checks for genuine windows? Don't let that
one in........ Grrrr! lol.

Do a manual update. I.E. Click on windows update. Click custom button. When
that update appears select 'do not show this update again'.

this is where I get confounded as there is no way to 'do not show this
update again'. the update is shown as GWAdvantage___I have no problem with
this update___but when it is downloaded it is not shown as GWAdvantage it is
shown as 816093: Security Update Microsoft Virtual Machine (Microsoft VM)
and will be overwritten ___I have stopped all auto updates as It seems so
unreal

Do a few googles.
Qxxnumberxx is dif to kbxxnumberxx ....... don't confuse them.
Go to add/remove programs & click on "show updates" on top of the window.
Look for the troublesome one & delete it. Go do a manual update & follow
previous advice. The worst that will happen is you get back to where you are
now.

When doing a manual update, Do NOT download the one you don't want. Select
it, page down a little and click 'do not show this update again'. Then, back
out and do not download it.
