Help! No active process icons appearing on taskbar
Help! No active process icons appearing on taskbar
Just above the clock, my old XPSP2 would have the icons for my
anti-virus program, net connections, volume adjustments, so on. I
installed a new edition of WinXP-SP2 Office Pro, now no icons!
Re: Help! No active process icons appearing on taskbar
Right click on the Taskbar, Uncheck the 'Lock the Taskbar' option. Now mouse
over the top edge of the taskbar and when you see the Double Arrow (Up/Down)
symbol drag the mouse upwards until you see the Missing Icons. Then lock the
taskbar.

Re: Help! No active process icons appearing on taskbar
It's the active boot-type processes near the clock that don't show.
There's nothing to mouse over that gives the double arrow.
At the other end of the taskbar, open app icons and the nearby quick
launch icons have worked fine since installation. The taskbar line
does go double arrow when I mouse over it.
Thank you,
Wendie

Re: Help! No active process icons appearing on taskbar
Since you installed a new edition, you may have to go to each application
and click 'show icon in taskbar'

Re: Help! No active process icons appearing on taskbar
Icons show immediately to the left of the clock. There is no need to raise
the taskbar.

SOLVED!
Well, I guess my fatigue from work and family demands sapped my brain.
Late Thursday night I unintentionally turned off "Show taskbar
notification icons" using MS's TweakUI PowerToy.
TweakUI overode this option so it was greyed out in control panel.
This is why I couldn't turn them using the taskbar options in control
panel.
