Default folder options

in folder options you have the opportunity to "show hidden files and
folders" and "do not show hidden files and folders"___these settings have
become simply reversed "I.E." the selected "show hidden files and folders",
in actual fact becomes "hide hidden files and folders"___I have done a sfc
/scannow, with no difference. The display "show the contents of system
folders" is selected and "hide protected operating system files" is
selected____this is not a crucial problem , but I would like to know what
has happened to my folder options

With kind regards From OZ

Default Re: folder options

Probably because the "Do" or "Do Not" actions are different than the
checked and unchecked values at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\NOHIDDE N

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\SuperHidden

In other words, the Text value in those keys doesn't correspond to the
check/uncheck actions. Carefully compare your checked/unchecked values
with the ones here:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\NOHIDDE N]
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVe rsion\\Explorer\\Advanced"
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30501"
"Type"="radio"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000002
"ValueName"="Hidden"
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000002
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51104"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL]
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVe rsion\\Explorer\\Advanced"
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30500"
"Type"="radio"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000001
"ValueName"="Hidden"
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000002
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51105"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\SuperHidden]
"Type"="checkbox"
"Text"="@shell32.dll,-30508"
"WarningIfNotDefault"="@shell32.dll,-28964"
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVe rsion\\Explorer\\Advanced"
"ValueName"="ShowSuperHidden"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000000
"UncheckedValue"=dword:00000001
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000000
"HelpID"="shell.hlp#51103"
