Default File and Settings Transfer

I used XP's FAST utility in an attempt to transfer files from an older
computer to a newer one using my home network. I followed the procedure
outlined in a paper by Gary Woodruff that I found in the Microsoft knowledge
base. Both machines told me the transfer was sucessful. Some of the
transferred files, such as my desk top settings updated automatically,
however I can't seem to locate where the many of the other files reside. I
checked on my newer computer for a folder called USMT2.UNC and a file called
IMG0001.DAT, both of which were mentioned in the Woodruff paper, using
windows search utility by could not find either. Any assistance would be
appreciated.

USMT2.UNC and IMG0001.DAT are working files created by the wizard. If
you transferred direct over a network they probably would not be
created.

Have you searched for your "missing" files by file name? They were
probably transferred but may be under a different user name on the
Windows XP.

Good luck
