Default F Parameter?

I was running chkdsk and got this prompt

Warning; F Parameter not specified
Running chkdsk in read only mode

Any help appreciated.. thanks rainy

CHKDSK /F finds and fixes defects

CHKDSK without /F finds and reports, but does not fix.

Read-only mode means that it looks at your disk but doesn't change
anything.

You can always try "/?" (without quotes, obviously) after commands to see
what the switches mean. For example, "chkdsk /?" would show you that /f
"fixes errors on the disk"
