Default Error in opening Windows Live Messnger

I have a problem opening Windows live Messenger, and I did a troubleshoot and
in the test results all came up okay except forKey Ports , which had a
triangle and exclamation mark next to it. . What does this mean and how does
one correct it? I reinstalled WLM but still get the same error.
I am using OS Windows XP Home.
Thanks for any help on this.
