Default Computer won't boot to windows

My friend is able to get to the screen, after the screen (where it lists the
drivers), where the operating system and safe mode are listed, but clicking
the up and down keys to select do not work.. She is not able to get to safe
modeI suggested it was her keyboard but don't think so.. thanks ahead of
time..

Windows XP Media Center
SP2

The keyboard lights up when she boots and the cap key and other keys that
light up work..

If it's a USB keyboard...try using a ps/2 type

Have you changed to another keyboard and test. Sounds like the keyboard

thanks for the response, but it didn't work.. one other thing she had an
electrician working on the wiring outside, and the circuit breaker was off..
could it have caused it? Rainy

Default Re: Computer won't boot to windows UPDATE

Just thought I would let the group know who or what the culprit is.. My
friends daughter is getting married next month. and she had just purchased a
new printer. once installed, and her computer was turned off, it would not
boot to windows..she unplugged the printer to take it to work to get the job
done and windows booted just fine.. She called HP Technical support which is
in Indian (she had a hard time understanding, and so did they) for the
printer and found out that it has something to do with the language chosen
when she installed the printer driver.. She's still working on the problem
but at least she is on the right path..
