Check with the manufacturer of the hard drive. They might have a free app on
their site that will detect hard drive problems.

Hi.. it might have been what I needed but can't get the program to install..
it gets to a point and next is not highlighted both on my computer, and my
friends... Also it keeps asking for a cartridge! I think the executable may
be corrupted. any other ideas? Rainy

Are you sure it is NOT the normal clicking sounds when the disk is seeking?

Thanks for posting back. Your friend did a recovery first and then
determined the problem was a sticking key on the keyboard? Ouch!!
And yes I know how a stuck key will stick ;-)
