Default Can not copy files and folders to a CD

I need to copy some files for the first time to a CD to bring to a different
computer.
I have printed the directions for doing it but when I get to the part "Write
these files to CD" the CD Writing Wizard pops up and I follow the directions.
But it always says put a CD RW or CD-R in BUT I already have one in. I have
files waiting there to be wirtten.
I go to My Computer>E drive> click on copy these files and I get the Wizard
etc.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there someone who can help. I have been
told to use a portable media but I do not have any and want to be able at
least to transfer these records.

I am not a great fan of XPs' CD burning ability, take a look at CDBurnerXP
Pro (http://www.cdburnerxp.se/) it is free.

In My Computer right mouse click on the CD drive and select Properties.

Click on the recording tab and make sure there is a check mark next to
Enable CD recording on this drive.

If that doesn't work, are you sure the CD drive is a recording drive?
How old is your computer?

Thanks JD. I tried your way but "enable CD..etc" did not come up when I went
to properties. I did get some info about DLA and read all about it thinking
that something there would help but nothing seemed to get me past the "you
have files waiting to be written to a CD" and put in a CD which I put in. My
computer is 4 years old, and I can burn music discs on this same drive. I
have an E drive CD & CD-RW and a DVD drive. I have never tried before this
time to make a CD of my files.

I've had this same problem.
As odd as it sounds I've found that putting the CD in only AFTER it asks
for it seems to work for me. Just leave the drive empty and load the CD
when it's asked for. Good Luck.
