Dunno. As Windows XP does NOT contain DOS, why are you asking this in a

IFF you can boot from it, you would have to tell your system CMOS or BIOS
that it's a bootable device, just like you tell it CDs and floppies can be
booted from. IFF you can set that, you can. But I don't think you can;
check to be sure though.
What drive letter are you using to access the usb drive? Perhaps drive
letter changes for it when you boot from a usb pen drive rather than the
floppy.

OH PALEASE!!! All winBlows run on Dos. What do you think is in
system32 folder? OSX? Now grant it, there is a lot more then Dos in
system32 folder now a days but it is the latest variant of that old
venerable OS that gates bought all those years ago...

Sorry. Windows XP is an NT derivative and as such DOES NOT CONTAIN DOS. It
has a dos EMULATOR, but it is NOT DOS. Do some research first.
