Default Add/Remove Program Can't Remove an App

I must have manually removed an old app (Sonic MyDVD - probably not supported
in XP) but there's still an entry for MyDVD in the Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs list. I tried to remove it but a popup with the app name displayed:
An installation support file could not be installed. The parameter is
incorrect.

KB310587 seemed to apply. I used regedit to locate the occurrence of MyDVD
in the uninstall portion of the registry, exported it (for backup), then
deleted the entry. I'm about to close regedit, reboot, and see if the
undesired entry in the Add/Remove Programs list is gone. Does it sound like
I've done the right thing?

Also, I think I've deleted all residual folders and files on the HDD related
to MyDVD, but there are several other occurrences of "MyDVD" in the registry.
Is there anything to be gained by cautiously deleting these occurrences too?
I never intend to try using this app again.
Thanks a lot for any suggestions!
