Default Abode Reader 8

Hello All.

I am running XP home with IE7. I have recently down loaded Abode Reader 8
which I cannot use. When I have attempted to open a document from a website
I am presented with the following message: Abode PDF Document. (Exclamation
mark in yellow triangle) There is a problem with Abode Acrobat/ Reader.
Please exit Abode Acrobat/Reader and try again. I have tried to open PDF
documents that I have saved in My Documents but no dialog box appears here,
these will just do not open. I have tried to open Abode reader via the
desktop shortcut but it will not do so. Abode Reader 8 appears to be present
in C:\ProgramFiles\ABODE\Reader8.0\Reader. So I can find it in "My Computer"
no problem. It is also present in Add/Remove Programs. However when I go to
"all programs" Abode is EMPTY as is the shortcut. Incidentally, trying to do
anything with Abode Reader usually ends up with me facing a black screen
with absolutely no response from anything apart from the reset button.

I have run Defender, AVG, and Spy Catcher which all say that everything is
fine. I have also run Disk Clean Up and Defragmenter. IE7 has updated all
this has happened within the last 24 hours.

I'm a bit stuck here, can anyone please help?

Kind regards

Sychman.

Default Re: Abode Reader 8

In past versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader to ensure a good install it was
better to uninstall a previous version before installing a newer version.
Also I prefer to download a file and then install it rather than doing the
install over the internet. If after attempting to get Adobe going and you
still have no success, you could try other readers, i.e., PDF-XChange Viewer
or Foxit.

I use this one.
