Default WMM Vista versus XP Compatibility?

I made a slideshow in my new WMM. When I emailed the slideshow to friends
who have XP, they can not open it? Is there a compatiblity problem between
the two? If so, is anything being done to make them compatible? Is there a
workaround?
Thanks.

if you emailed the project file (MSWMM).. then they can't open it with their
version of Movie Maker.... if you emailed the saved WMV file, then it should
open.

Apologize that I am not versed on Vista or MSWMM or WMV. How do I save the
project to a WMV file?
Thanks
