Default Winodws Vista SP1

Hello Everyone

I'm a little bit confused regarding the Windows Vista SP1. I've read some
stuff on some sites and magazines, including the Microsoft site and I can't
understand if I really need to install this SP1.
On Microsoft Download Center it says that if we want to download Windows SP1
to a single computer we should use the Windows Update instead.
My computer is always updated and I don't remember ever downloaded this SP1.
It means that my computer does not need this SP1? Or this SP1 is not
available in Windows Update for O.S. in Portuguese yet?

Thanks in advance

You don't 'need' to install SP1. If your system is running stable,
installing SP1 could make it unstable. Eventually Automatic Update will
install it.

Hi,

It's not the language that's an issue. Prior to SP1 being released, it was
demonstrated that installing it would break certain drivers, requiring them
to be reinstalled. Microsoft made a decision at that time to include in
Windows Update's detection scheme a routine to discern whether or not a
system contains these drivers known to be a problem. If it does, then SP1
will not be offered on Windows Update for that system.
